Regular Season Round 40: Quilmes MP - Argentino 94-97

A very interesting game took place in Mar del Plata. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked Quilmes MP (18-22) to sixth ranked Argentino (22-21) 97-94 on Saturday evening. Argentino made 26-of-33 charity shots (78.8 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Quilmes MP helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American guard Novar Gadson (201-89, college: Rider, agency: DTMones) who scored that evening 22 points and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Chaz Crawford (207-84, college: Drexel, agency: DTMones) supported him with 18 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Even 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by American Tracy Robinson (201-86, college: Loyola, IL) did not help to save the game for Quilmes MP. International guard Luca Vildoza (190-95) added 19 points and 4 assists for lost side. Five Argentino and four Quilmes MP players scored in double figures. Argentino have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with GECR Indalo. Quilmes MP lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 22 games lost. Argentino's next round opponent will be higher ranked Weber Bahia (#3) in Bahia Blanca and it may be the game of the week. Quilmes MP will play at home against the league's leader San Martin Corrientes (#1) and hope to win that game.
