Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Barcelona (12-12) won against at home 9th ranked Segle XXI (10-14) 71-56 on Saturday. The game without a history. Barcelona led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Segle XXI to just 5 points in third and fourth quarters. It was a good game for forward Ana Alonso (187-90) who led her team to a victory with 22 points. Montse Pujolreu contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Aixa Wone (184-0) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Aina Ayuso (181-99) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Segle XXI. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Barcelona maintains seventh position in Group A with 12-12 record. Loser Segle XXI dropped to the eighth place with 14 games lost. Barcelona will face Azkoitia (#11) in Azpeitia in the next round.
