Regular Season Round 24: Olimpico 64 - Adareva 66-81

Very expected game when 14th ranked Olimpico 64 (3-21) lost to seventh ranked Adareva (14-10) in Madrid 66-81 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Adareva. Olimpico 64 was better in fourth quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Olimpico 64 43-24 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Adareva especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. It was a good game for American-Nigerian swingman Anma Onyeuku (181-91, college: Hofstra) who led her team to a victory with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Laura Fernandez (169-89) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. The former international power forward Irene Herradas (186-78) replied with 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and power forward Julia Rabadan (180-86) added 6 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Olimpico 64. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Adareva moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with Rivas Promete. Olimpico 64 lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. Adareva will face Promete (#9) in the next round. Olimpico 64 will play against Batalyaws (#10) and hope to win that game.
