Regular Season Round 24: Nanterre - Gravelines 67-88
Date: March 25, 2017
JSF Nanterre (#4) was upset in Nanterre by seventh ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque 88-67. The game without a history. Gravelines-Dunkerque led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Gravelines-Dunkerque outrebounded JSF Nanterre 37-26 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American guard Justin Cobbs (191-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored that evening 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import forward Richard Solomon (208-92, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 15 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Five Gravelines-Dunkerque players scored in double figures. Even 17 points by German point guard Heiko Schaffartzik (183-84) did not help to save the game for JSF Nanterre. Mathias Lessort (205-95) added 10 points and 8 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gravelines-Dunkerque have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 14-10 record. JSF Nanterre at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against league's leader Monaco at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. JSF Nanterre will play against Sluc Nancy and hopes to get back on the winning track.
