Fourth-ranked Bascharage (2-22) gave a tough game to first ranked Basket Esch (14-11) in Kaerjeng on Saturday. The visitors from Esch managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73. However their fans expected easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Pit Biever (185-91) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Bill Clark (196-88, college: Duquesne) who added 15 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Basket Esch players scored in double figures. American guard Phillip Leonard (188-93, college: Mercer) responded with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import power forward Emilio Parks (198-92, college: Johnson C. Smith) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Basket Esch maintains first position in League with 14-11 record. Bascharage at the other side keeps the fourth place with 22 games lost. Basket Esch are looking forward to face league's second-placed Residence in Bereldange in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bascharage will play on the road against Arantia in Larochette and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
