Regular Season Round 25: Den Bosch - Leiden 71-64

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Leiden (16-9) against fourth ranked Den Bosch (13-12) on Saturday night. Visiting Leiden was defeated by Den Bosch in a tough game in Den Bosch 64-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Leiden. It looked good early as Leiden took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Den Bosch had a 24-8 second period charge getting the lead and Leiden was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-71. American forward Charles Mitchell (203, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) nailed 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import swingman Justin Watts (196-90, college: N.Carolina) accounted for 17 points and 5 rebounds. Den Bosch's coach Sander van der Holst allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international center Thomas Koenis (210-89, agency: Court Side) came up with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Daviyon Draper (201-94, college: FIU) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Leiden in the defeat. Den Bosch maintains fourth place with 13-12 record. Leiden at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. Den Bosch will play against Amsterdam (#6) on the road in the next round. Leiden will play against Rotterdam and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
