There was a surprise result in Condell Park where sixth ranked Bankstown Bruins (3-2) defeated much higher ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (3-3) 71-66 on Saturday. Bankstown Bruins outrebounded Manly Warringah Sea Eagles 54-38 including a 43-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Nic Pozoglou who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 22 rebounds and the former international guard Steven Markovic (190-85) who added 10 points and 12 assists during the contest. At the losing side naturalized Polish swingman Stefan Blaszczynski (196-84, college: Nicholls St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and Abe Bulgin scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bankstown Bruins moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Manly Warringah Sea Eagles dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
