Regular Season Round 24: Le Mans - ASVEL 82-74

An interesting game took place in Le Mans where 8th ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (12-12) was upset on the court of eleventh ranked Le Mans (11-13) 82-74 on Saturday. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 30-24 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 74-82 at the end of the game. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best for the losing side was American center Darryl Watkins (211-84, college: Syracuse, agency: Inception Sports) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) scored 20 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Le Mans moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Limoges and Le Portel. Defending champion ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Le Mans will face Cholet Basket (#15) on the road in the next round where they are favorite.
