Regular Season Round 48: Niigata Albirex - Toshiba BT 65-84

An interesting game for Toshiba Thunders (38-8) which played road game in Niigata against 4th ranked Niigata Albirex (20-26). First ranked Toshiba Thunders had an easy win 84-65. Toshiba Thunders dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Niigata Albirex's 34. Toshiba Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 17 rebounds. International point guard Yuma Fujii (178-91) contributed with 13 points and 5 assists for the winners. American Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) replied with 22 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas, agency: Babcock Sports) added 19 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Niigata Albirex. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toshiba Thunders maintains first position with 38-8 record. Loser Niigata Albirex keeps the fourth place with 26 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will have a break next round. Niigata Albirex will play again at home against the league's leader Toshiba Thunders (#1) and hope to win that game.
