Regular Season Round 24: Krosno - Trefl Sopot 75-73

A very close game took place in Krosno between Krosno and Trefl. Tenth ranked Krosno (14-12) got a very close home victory over 9th ranked Trefl (13-12). Krosno managed to escape with a 2-point win 75-73 on Saturday evening. The winners were led by American power forward Kareem Maddox (202-89, college: Princeton) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import guard Devante Wallace (196-92, college: High Point) supported him with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Krosno players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 4 assists by American point guard Anthony Ireland (175-91, college: Loyola Mary) did not help to save the game for Trefl. Serbian power forward Nikola Markovic (208-89) added 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Krosno moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Polpharma. Loser Trefl dropped to the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Krosno will meet bottom-ranked Siarka (#17) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Trefl will play against Wilki Morskie (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
