Regular Season Round 4: Maitland M. - Hills H. 87-85

Very expected game when 8th ranked Hills Hornets (2-3) were edged on the road by first ranked Maitland Mustangs (4-1) 87-85 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Hills Hornets were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Tyler Monroe (201, college: Azusa Pacific) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and Jack Edwards who added 16 points during the contest. At the losing side naturalized Croatian power forward Goran Veg (205) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized British forward Paul Brotherson (198-89, college: Metro St.) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Hills Hornets players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Maitland Mustangs went down to second position (League) due to points difference. Loser Hills Hornets dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
