Regular Season Round 25: Roma Luiss - Forli Tigers 93-79

The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Roma Luiss' (14-11) home victory over 8th ranked Forli Tigers (13-14) 93-79 on Saturday. Roma Luiss dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Forli Tigers' 36. They outrebounded Forli Tigers 43-26 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forli Tigers were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Eugenio Beretta (206-96) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Power forward Francesco Ramenghi (209-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Christian Villani (200-82, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 16 points and guard Joel Myers (185-95) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Five Roma Luiss and four Forli Tigers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Roma Luiss moved-up to fifth place, which they share with San Miniato. Newly promoted Forli Tigers keep the eighth position with 14 games lost. Roma Luiss will face league's second-placed Valmontone on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Forli Tigers will play against Catanzaro (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
