Regular Season Round 3: Los Mochis - Obregon 84-95

Pioneros Los Mochis (0-2) were defeated at home by Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (2-0) with the biggest margin this round 95-84 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Halcones de Ciudad Obregon. Pioneros Los Mochis managed to win fourth quarter 29-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Michael Glover (203-87, college: Iona) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized American swingman Joseph Hutchingson (196-87, college: Lincoln, MO) chipped in 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Halcones de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Cameron Forte (201-93, college: Portland St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Lance Perique (203-83, college: Georgia St.) added 27 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will meet at home Rayos de Hermosillo (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pioneros Los Mochis will play against Frayles de Guasave and hope to get finally their first victory.
