Regular Season Round 43: Handlova - Lucenec 61-65

The biggest surprise of round 43 was guest Lucenec's (#7) road victory over Handlova (#8) 65-61 on Saturday evening. They outrebounded Handlova 47-31 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Serbian Strahinja Stojacic (197-92) fired 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Aaron Rountree-III (203-93, college: Iona) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. The former international power forward Peter Sedmak (207-85, agency: 011 Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and Serbian guard Pedja Stamenkovic (190-88, agency: 011 Sports) added 8 points and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Newly promoted Lucenec maintains seventh place with 18-21 record. Handlova at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with 22 games lost. Lucenec are looking forward to face higher ranked Iskra Svit (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Handlova will play against Levice and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
