There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Oleggio (9-16) beat at home higher ranked Siena Virtus (11-14) 71-57 on Saturday. They outrebounded Siena Virtus 38-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. Dominican guard Shaquille Hidalgo (188-94) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Power forward Alessandro Spatti (204-95, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Oleggio players scored in double figures. Alessandro Nepi (186-93) produced 12 points and 5 rebounds and guard Ferdinando Nasello (194-95) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Oleggio moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Volpino AltoSeb. Newly promoted Siena Virtus dropped to the eighth position with 14 games lost. Oleggio will face higher ranked Montecatiniterme (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
