Regular Season Round 48: Osaka Evessa - SeaHorses 66-89

An interesting game for Aishin Sea Horses (36-10) which played road game in Osaka against one of their biggest challengers Osaka Evessa (22-24). First ranked Aishin Sea Horses had an easy win 89-66. Aishin Sea Horses outrebounded Osaka Evessa 43-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-90) who scored 23 points. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) who recorded 12 points and 8 rebounds and forward Shinnosuke Negoro (195-87) added 15 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aishin Sea Horses have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 36-10 record, which they share with Toyota Alvark. Osaka Evessa at the other side dropped to the second place with 24 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will have a break next round. Osaka Evessa will play again at home against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
