The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Gent Hawks (19-5) in Borgerhout on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Gembo BBC (18-6) 80-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gent Hawks. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 10 points. Worth to mention a great performance of center Pieter Van-Rillaer (198-81) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Eli Van-Aken (193-85) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Joeri Vermoessen (200-93) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and center Jeremy Delobbe (203-91) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Gent Hawks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gembo BBC have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Oxaco. Gent Hawks at the other side still keep top position with five games lost. Gembo BBC is looking forward to face Waregem (#4) in Waregem in the next round. Gent Hawks will play at home against Soba and are hoping to win this game.
