Regular Season Round 24: Enel Brindisi - Scandone AV 94-74

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Scandone AV (15-9) against ninth ranked Enel Brindisi (12-12) on Sunday night. Visiting Scandone AV was crushed by Enel Brindisi in Brindisi 94-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Scandone AV. The game was mostly controlled by Enel Brindisi. Scandone AV managed to win second period 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Scandone AV to just 5 points in first quarter. Enel Brindisi shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 72.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was Jamaican power forward Samardo Samuels (206-89, college: Louisville) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. American-Jamaican swingman Durand Scott (196-90, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Five Enel Brindisi players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Ukrainian center Kyrylo Fesenko (216-86) who recorded 28 points and 9 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) and American-Polish guard David Logan (185-82, college: Indianapolis) added 23 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Enel Brindisi moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Auxilium TO. Scandone AV at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. Enel Brindisi will meet higher ranked Banco di Srd (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Scandone AV will play against the league's second-placed Umana Venezia where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
