Not a big story in a game in Nagoya where 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars (11-36) were defeated by third ranked Diamond Dolphins (23-24) 84-69 on Sunday. Diamond Dolphins outrebounded Shiga L-Stars 41-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. American center David Weaver (207-87, college: Wake Forest) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) for the winners and guard Taito Nakahigashi (190-92) chipped in 22 points. At the losing side Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and guard Narito Namizato (172-89) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Diamond Dolphins moved-up to second place, which they share with Hitachi SR. Loser Shiga L-Stars keep the sixth position with 36 games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face Ryukyu GK (#5) in Okinawa in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play at home against Osaka Evessa and hope to win that game.
