Regular Season Round 50: Toyotsu FE - Tokyo Z 82-77

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Nagoya. Second ranked Toyotsu FE faced 3rd ranked Tokyo Z. Host Toyotsu FE (34-14) defeated guests from Tokyo (20-29) 82-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tokyo Z. Toyotsu FE dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Z's 28. Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) notched a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Shohei Kozu (191-87) supported him with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Even 20 points and 5 rebounds by American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) did not help to save the game for Tokyo Z. Point guard Shota Watanabe (180-93) added 12 points and 4 assists for the guests. Toyotsu FE keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Nishinomiya S. Tokyo Z at the other side keeps the third place with 29 games lost. Toyotsu FE's next round opponent will be Tokyo Excel. (#4) on the road. Tokyo Z will play against the league's leader Nishinomiya S. in Hyogo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
