Very important is a road loss of third ranked Yamagata (24-24) against fifth ranked Cyberdyne IR (22-26) on Sunday night. Visiting Yamagata was crushed by Cyberdyne IR in Tsukuba 92-66. American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) chipped in 20 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Point guard Yuichi Ishikawa (173-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Masanari Masanari (186-91) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cyberdyne IR have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Yamagata lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 24 games lost. They share it with Ehime OV. Cyberdyne IR will meet at home league's second-placed Fukushima in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
