Regular Season Round 3: Botafogo F.R. - Blumenau 90-64

Botafogo F.R. (5-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed Blumenau (2-4) in Rio de Janeiro 90-64. Botafogo F.R. made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Botafogo F.R. had a 33-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Wesley Russell (193-93, college: Ohio Christian) who scored 29 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Jamaal Smith (175-85, college: N.Mexico) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Russell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was Luiz Semmke (197-92) who recorded 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Diego Silva (206-90) added 6 points and 7 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Botafogo F.R. will have a break next round. Blumenau will play against Santos/Macapa (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
