No shocking result in a game when thirteenth ranked Cecina (11-13) defeated at home 16th ranked Domodossola (7-17) 77-72 on Sunday. Cecina dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Domodossola's 22. Domodossola was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Saverio Mazzantini (194-95, agency: Players Group) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Mario Gigena (198-77) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Corrado Bianconi (202-94) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Maurizio Realini (190-83) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Domodossola's coach Alessio Fioravanti tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cecina moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Cefalu and Scauri. Newly promoted Domodossola dropped to the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. Cecina will face Siena Virtus (#12) on the road in the next round. Domodossola will play against the league's leader Moncalieri having rather not much hope for a victory.
