Regular Season Round 24: Dolomiti En. TR - VL Pesaro 97-91
Date: March 26, 2017
Not a big story in a game in Trento where 15th ranked VL Pesaro (7-17) was defeated by fifth ranked Dolomiti En. TR (14-10) 97-91 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 47-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Dolomiti En. TR dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to VL Pesaro's 32. They outrebounded VL Pesaro 36-18 including a 17-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. VL Pesaro was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Dominique Sutton (198-86, college: N.C.Central) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Aaron Craft (188-91, college: Ohio St.) who added 15 points and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-Hungarian power forward Jarrod Jones (205-90, college: Ball St.) with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Lithuanian Simas Jasaitis (202-82) scored 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Dolomiti En. TR and four VL Pesaro players scored in double figures. Dolomiti En. TR moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Betaland Cdo. VL Pesaro lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Dolomiti En. TR will face league's leader Armani Milano on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. VL Pesaro will play against Vanoli Cremona (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
