Bamberg upset Wuerzburg on the road in the opener. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ladybaskets Wuerzburg won third quarter 15-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Don Bosco Bamberg made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. American power forward Tori Waldner (196-93, college: Penn St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) or the winners and guard Julia Foerner (176-1) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists (made all of her eight free throws). Four Don Bosco Bamberg players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Jessika Schiffer (172-0) responded with 12 points and 6 assists and center Laura Zdravevska (185-97) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Ladybaskets Wuerzburg's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help.
