Regular Season Round 24: Maccabi Ashdod - Bnei Hertzeliyya 84-68

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Bnei Hasharon (14-10) against eleventh ranked Maccabi Ashdod (9-15) on Monday night. Visiting Bnei Hasharon was defeated by Maccabi Ashdod in Ashdod 84-68. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Ashdod. Bnei Hasharon was better in second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi Ashdod players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international Iftach Ziv (191-95) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and American Chase Simon (201-89, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Three Eye Sports) who added 22 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Senegalese-Filipino center Hamady NDiaye (213-87, college: Rutgers) with 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-Georgian point guard Taurean Green (183-85, college: Florida) scored 14 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maccabi Ashdod maintains eleventh position with 9-15 record. Bnei Hasharon at the other side keeps the third place with ten games lost. They share the position with Hapoel Eilat. Maccabi Ashdod will play against higher ranked Hapoel Eilat (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bnei Hasharon will play against the league's leader Maccabi T-A where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
