The game in Culiacan was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (3-1) played at the court of 7th ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (1-3). Garra Canera de Navolato managed to secure a 9-point victory 89-80 on Wednesday. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Guard Tamir Jackson (190-90, college: Rice) contributed with 28 points and 6 assists for the winners. Center Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Langston Morris-Walker (196-94, college: Oregon St., agency: SDJ Sports) added 16 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in the effort for Caballeros de Culiacan. Four Caballeros de Culiacan players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Garra Canera de Navolato have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Guasave and Hermosillo. Caballeros de Culiacan lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Garra Canera de Navolato will face Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Caballeros de Culiacan will play against Aguilas Doradas de Durango and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
