No shocking result in a game when second ranked Valmontone (21-5) beat at home 6th ranked Roma Luiss (14-12) 80-70 on Wednesday. Valmontone looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Roma Luiss' players. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Manuel Carrizo (198-80, agency: Players Group) orchestrated the victory by scoring 8 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. Guard Antonio De-Fabritiis (189-90) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Center Eugenio Beretta (206-96) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Marco Bonaccorso (-97) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Roma Luiss. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Valmontone maintains second position in B with 21-5 record behind leader Montegrano, which they share with Bergamo. Loser Roma Luiss keep the sixth place with 12 games lost. Valmontone will face Catanzaro (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite.
