Regular Season Round 24: Olimpi - Mgzavrebi 70-77
Date: March 29, 2017
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Tbilisi: Mgzavrebi (#8) and Olimpi (#6). Olimpi was defeated at home 70-77 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Olimpi was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Kaheem Ransom (185, college: Sam Houston St.) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Otar Pkhakadze (188-93, college: Simpson, CA) who added 17 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Mgzavrebi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Tre Burnette (196, college: S.Dakota) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Nick Schlitzer (198-92, college: Philadelphia) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Mgzavrebi maintains eighth position with 7-17 record. Olimpi at the other side keeps the sixth place with 15 games lost. Mgzavrebi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Dinamo Tbilisi.
