The game in Kotka was also quite interesting. Third ranked Helsinki Seagulls (25-11) played at the court of 8th ranked KTP-Basket (13-23). Helsinki Seagulls defeated KTP-Basket 100-90 on Wednesday. KTP-Basket was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 37-26 charge of Helsinki Seagulls, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to KTP-Basket's 38. Helsinki Seagulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by KTP-Basket's players. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Antto Nikkarinen (185-91, agency: Blacktop Management) who scored 14 points and 8 assists. The former international Carl Lindbom (206-91) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Helsinki Seagulls' coach Mikko Larkas used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Antwan Scott (188-92, college: Colorado St.) who recorded 40 points (!!!) (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and the other American import Monyea Pratt (196-85, college: Stillman, agency: Court Side) added 13 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Helsinki Seagulls moved-up to second place, which they share with Kataja Basket. Loser KTP-Basket dropped to the ninth position with 23 games lost.
