An interesting game for Al Riyadi (16-4) which played road game in Dik El Mehdi against Champville (8-12). Al Riyadi managed to get a 11-point victory 79-68. Al Riyadi dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Champville's 38. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Mohamad Haidar (201-90, college: Michigan Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds. Dominican-American point guard Edgar Sosa (190-88, college: Louisville) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. American point guard Patrick Rembert (185-89, college: Cal-Irvine) produced 25 points and 5 assists and his fellow American import power forward Darian Townes (208-84) added 10 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Riyadi's next round opponent will be Al Moutahed in Tripoli and it will be for sure the game of the week. Champville will play at home against Tadamon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
