Everything went according to plan when third ranked Chalon/Saor (18-7) won against on the road 16th ranked Olympique Antibes (7-18) 87-74 on Friday. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 45-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American point guard John Roberson (180-88, college: Texas Tech) stepped up and scored 18 points and 9 assists for the winners and swingman Axel Bouteille (201-95) chipped in 17 points and 10 rebounds. Five Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. At the losing side Isaia Cordinier (194-96) responded with 13 points and 9 rebounds and American-Nigerian center Chris Otule (211-90, college: Marquette) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Olympique Antibes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chalon/Saor moved-up to second place, which they share with Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Olympique Antibes lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Orleans. Chalon/Saor will meet at home Chalons-Reims (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Olympique Antibes will play against Hyeres-Toulon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
