Very expected game in Fos-sur-Mer where 13th ranked Saint-Quentin (11-14) was defeated by second ranked Provence Basket (17-8) 89-76 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 46-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Provence Basket made 19-of-19 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American-Nigerian Derrick Obasohan (198-81, college: Texas Arlington, agency: BeoBasket) stepped up and scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American swingman Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Provence Basket's coach Remi Giutta allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side swingman Pierre-Etienne Drouault (196-90) responded with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and American center Ryan Rhoomes (203-92, college: Fordham) scored 20 points. Four Saint-Quentin players scored in double figures. Provence Basket maintains second place with 17-8 record behind leader Bourg. Loser Saint-Quentin dropped to the twelfth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Rouen. Provence Basket will meet at home ADA Blois (#6) in the next round. Saint-Quentin will play against Poitiers (#9) and hope to secure a win.
