An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Hermosillo. Second ranked Rayos de Hermosillo faced 3rd placed Tijuana Zonkeys. Host Rayos de Hermosillo (4-2) defeated guests from Tijuana (5-2) 92-82. Rayos de Hermosillo made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Tristan Spurlock (203-91, college: Cent.Florida) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 9 rebounds. The former international point guard Steve Monreal (180-86, college: CS Monterey) contributed with 18 points and 6 assists for the winners. American center Leon Gibson (206-91, college: Houston) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Tijuana Zonkeys. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo have a solid series of four victories in a row. Despite that victory Rayos de Hermosillo went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with Navolato. Tijuana Zonkeys at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. Rayos de Hermosillo will play against league's leader Frayles de Guasave on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tijuana Zonkeys will play against Pioneros Los Mochis and hope to get back on the winning track.
