Everything went according to plan when first ranked Paterna (10-5) beat at home 5th ranked Almassera (2-13) 75-69 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Almassera trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 21-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 69-75 at the end of the game. Paterna forced 20 Almassera turnovers. Point guard Hector Piquer (190-91) scored 21 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Jacobo Hofmann (198-92) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest.
