Regular Season Round 50: Akita NH - Chiba Jets 80-70

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Chiba Jets (33-15) against fifth ranked Akita Happinets (15-33) on Saturday night. Visiting Chiba Jets were defeated by Akita Happinets in Akita 80-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Chiba Jets. Guard Seiya Ando (184-92) notched 16 points to lead the effort and American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) supported him with 14 points. Four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. Akita Happinets' coach Makoto Hasegawa allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) did not help to save the game for Chiba Jets. International power forward Ryumo Ono (197-88) added 9 points and 9 assists for the guests. Akita Happinets maintains fifth position with 15-33 record, which they share with Yokohama BC. Chiba Jets at the other side keep the third place with 15 games lost. Akita Happinets' next round opponent will be again higher ranked Chiba Jets (#3) at home and it may be quite challenging game.
