Regular Season Round 26: Mollet - Muro Basquet 97-91

Very expected game when 8th ranked Muro Basquet (10-13) was defeated on the road by first ranked Mollet (19-4) 97-91 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Center Jose-Manuel Coego (205-78) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Xavier Costa (192-84) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists during the contest. Mollet's coach Alex Teres used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Brandon Givens (198-87, college: NC-Wesleyan) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Andreu Adrover (184-95) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 assists and 6 steals. Five Mollet and four Muro Basquet players scored in double figures. Mollet maintains first position in Group A-A with 19-4 record. Newly promoted Muro Basquet keeps the eighth place with 13 games lost. Mollet will face Valls Nutrion (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Muro Basquet will play against Sant Adria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
