Lady Bandits used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Cheltenham 89-59 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Lady Bandits. Sabres was better in third quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lady Bandits dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Sabres' 38. Lady Bandits forced 20 Sabres turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Toccara Ross (184-86, college: Iowa St., agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Emma Mahady (180-92, college: California, PA) helped adding 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Lady Bandits players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was New Zealand forward Jessica Bygate (186-92) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and center Carly Chatfield (185-93) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Sabres' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lady Bandits will have a break next round. Sabres will play at home against Lady Braves and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
