Flames used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Goodwood 68-61 on Saturday night. Flames shot 22 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Eagles only scored two points from the stripe. Flames forced 22 Eagles turnovers. Eagles were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Jessica Good (186-94) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds. Shannon Mckay (-90) helped adding 16 points. Four Flames players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Olivia Thompson (185-93) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and Samantha Defrancesco scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Eagles' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Flames will face Rockets (#8) in Adelaide in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Eagles will play at home against Sabres and look forward to get finally their first victory.
