There was a small surprise in Rio Gallegos where ninth ranked Hispano Am. (17-29) smashed 6th ranked Quimsa (23-25) 93-69 on Saturday. American Larry OBannon (192-83, college: Louisville, agency: Interperformances) scored 23 points to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Jonatan Treise (185-85) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Five Hispano Am. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Chris Daniels (205-84, college: Texas A&M-CC) with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks and the former international forward Nicolas Romano (200-87) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Hispano Am. have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Hispano Am. maintains ninth position with 17-29 record. Quimsa lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 25 games lost. Hispano Am. will face again higher ranked Quimsa (#6) in Santiado Estero in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
