The game between closely ranked teams ended with second-best Dragonflies' (38-11) road loss to first ranked Shimane Magic (41-7) 50-72 on Saturday. Shimane Magic outrebounded Dragonflies 41-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Shimane Magic made 7 blocks. It was a good game for American forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) contributed with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Senegalese center Aziz NDiaye (213-88, college: Washington, agency: Babcock Sports) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Connor Lammert (206-94, college: Texas, agency: Babcock Sports) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Dragonflies. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Shimane Magic. They maintain first place with 41-7 record. Loser Dragonflies keep the second position with 11 games lost. Shimane Magic will face again league's second-placed Dragonflies in Hiroshima in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
