Regular Season Round 24: Alpo VF - Ferrara 49-52

The most exciting game of round 24 in the Serie A2 took place in Verona. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked Alpo VF (12-11) to third ranked Ferrara (16-6) 52-49 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 13-6 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Ferrara dominated on the defensive end, holding Alpo VF to just 6 points in third quarter. They also forced 23 Alpo VF turnovers. Strangely Alpo VF outrebounded Ferrara 43-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Elena Ramo (185-94) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 rebounds and forward Nene Diene (180-92) who added 10 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Bosnian Marina Dzinic (190-92) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and Laura Reani (183-96) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. Ferrara maintains third position in A2 with 16-6 record having seven points less than leader Sesto SG. Alpo VF at the other side keeps the seventh place with 11 games lost. Ferrara are looking forward to face Palermo (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alpo VF will play against Salerno (#13) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
