Regular Season Round 26: Menorca - Castellbisbal 77-89

There was an upset in Mahon where one of their biggest challengers Menorca (13-10) was defeated by seventh ranked Castellbisbal (12-10) 89-77 on Saturday. Castellbisbal dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Menorca's 34. Menorca was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Felix Lopez (190-85) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Terrelle Green (190, college: Robert Morris) chipped in 23 points during the contest. Point guard Daniel Garcia-Tora (192-79) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and center Angel Piedra (204-80) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Five Castellbisbal and four Menorca players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Castellbisbal moved-up to fifth place in Group C-A. Menorca lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. Castellbisbal will face Olivar (#9) in Zaragoza in the next round. Menorca will play on the road against Salt (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
