Regular Season Round 5: Joondalup Wolves - Rockingham F. 92-62

Date: April 1, 2017
No shocking result in a game in Joondalup where leader Wanneroo (3-0) smashed 8th ranked Flames (1-2) 92-62 on Saturday. Wanneroo dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Flames' 32. Wanneroo forced 20 Flames turnovers. The best player for the winners was naturalized Greek guard Trian Iliadis (190-89, college: ODU) who scored 20 points and 5 assists. American forward Richard Ross (198-92, college: ODU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four Wanneroo players scored in double figures. American forward Donovon Jack (206-93, college: Penn St.) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and guard Ryan Godfrey (187-90, college: W.Georgia) added 15 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Wanneroo moved-up to second place in League. Loser Flames dropped to the ninth position with two games lost. Wanneroo will face Eagles (#4) in Morley in the next round. Flames will play at home against Lightning (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
