Regular Season Round 24: Roannais - Toulouse 49-60

Rather expected game when 11th ranked Roannais (6-18) lost at home to eighth ranked Toulouse (12-12) 60-49 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Toulouse. Roannais was better in fourth quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Roannais 38-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Senegalese power forward Oumou Toure (190-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Croatian center Emilija Podrug (190-79) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Argentinian power forward Agostina Burani (184-91) replied with 8 points and 7 rebounds and Laetitia Guapo (180-95) added 6 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Roannais. Roannais' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toulouse moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Montbrison. Roannais lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with 18 games lost. Toulouse will face league's leader Roche in La Roche in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Roannais will play on the road against COB Calais (#6) and hope to win that game.
