Very expected game when 15th ranked San Vendemiano (6-21) was crushed on the road by eleventh ranked Desio (12-15) 100-54 on Saturday. Desio dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to San Vendemiano's 22. They outrebounded San Vendemiano 44-22 including a 34-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Desio looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. San Vendemiano was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Eric Ruiu (202-97, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Andrea Negri (193-88) helped adding 19 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Desio players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Edoardo Rossetto (199-94) with 6 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian forward Damian Buscaino (201-85, agency: Players Group) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Desio moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with Milano Urania and Padova. San Vendemiano lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with 21 games lost. Desio will face Milano Urania (#10) on the road in the next round. San Vendemiano will play against the league's second-placed Bergamo (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
