Regular Season Round 50: San-en - Niigata Albirex 87-90

The most exciting game of round 50 in the B League took place in Hamamatsu. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-ranked Sanen Neophoenix (26-22) to fourth ranked Niigata Albirex (21-27) 90-87 on Saturday evening. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas, agency: Babcock Sports) chipped in 23 points and 8 rebounds. Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. Swingman Josh Childress (203-83, college: Stanford) produced 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Sanen Neophoenix's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Niigata Albirex maintains fourth position with 21-27 record. Sanen Neophoenix at the other side keeps the second place with 22 games lost. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sanen Neophoenix will play again at home against Niigata Albirex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
