Regular Season Round 27: Granada - Zornotza 74-67

No shocking result in a game when third ranked CB Granada (19-9) beat at home 6th ranked Zornotza (14-13) 74-67 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. CB Granada dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Zornotza's 26. They outrebounded Zornotza 41-27 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland) who led his team to a victory with 17 points. The former international center Jesus Fernandez (204-75) contributed with 9 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. CB Granada's coach Pablo Pin used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Daniel De-La-Rua (181-97) answered with 16 points and American-Jamaican guard Khalid Mutakabbir (193-91, college: Presbyterian, agency: Duran International) added 11 points in the effort for Zornotza. CB Granada maintains third place with 19-9 record having just one point less than leader Sammic ISB. Loser Zornotza keeps the sixth position with 13 games lost. CB Granada will face league's leader Sammic ISB in Azpeitia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zornotza will play at home against Fontedoso Carrefour (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
