Regular Season Round 51: Ehime OV - Kumamoto V. 66-77

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 4th placed Orange Vikings' (24-25) home loss to third ranked Kumamoto V. (38-11) in Matsuyama 66-77 on Saturday. It was a good game for power forward Ryota Nakanishi (199-88) who led his team to a victory with 23 points. Guard Yuji Kanbara (183-89) contributed with 17 points for the winners. U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and guard Yoshihumi Nakajima (176-90) added 17 points in the effort for Orange Vikings. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kumamoto V.. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Hiroshima D. Orange Vikings lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the third position with 25 games lost. Kumamoto V. will have a break next round. Orange Vikings will play again at home against Kumamoto V. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
