Marburg drubbed Bad Aibling in the opening clash of the series. The game was mostly controlled by BC Pharmaserv Marburg. Fireballs managed to win fourth quarter 21-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Pharmaserv Marburg forced 20 Fireballs turnovers. It was a very good performance for American guard Tonisha Baker (173-90, college: Campbell) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 5 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Katlyn Yohn (181-91, college: Bradley) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four BC Pharmaserv Marburg players scored in double figures. BC Pharmaserv Marburg's coach Patrick Unger felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Jessica Hootmann (190-85) answered with 24 points and 4 assists and American guard Lindsay Sherbert (184, college: Gonzaga) added 10 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Fireballs.
